Mari > ahhhh the lovely new york city subway.... so great... i was such a stupid typical tourist taking pictures in the subway station.... oh well, let people laugh... it was amazing to a seattlite to see a REAL public transportation system!

Mari > okay, i know i got a little carried away with the subway pics. andreas' cousin, dan, who's a local new yorker got a little perturbed at me always clicking away like a silly tourist.
Mari > this poor lady was not exactly happy about having her picture taken! too bad for her...
Mari > just walking down the streets was fascinating... so much to look at, so many people, so overwhelming actually. it got tiring... seriously... looking around constantly.
Mari > some random chair sculpture thing in a park on the hudson river.
Mari > hudson river with nyc and new jersey skyline. people weren't kidding when they joke about how nasty that river is... we could've sworn we saw bodies floating around in it.

Mari > i could not resist getting a photo of this businessman with his bright red loafers, so funny.
Mari > this blew me away... multi level pay parking lots?! i never did get to see how they got the cars up and down...
Mari > not quite sure which part of the city this is.... we walked a ridiculous amount every day, just wandering around exploring.
Mari > i have a thing for fire stations... and fire engines for that matter. such cute ones around the city. at least i just took a picture of this one and didn't go ask the firemen stupid questions like those tourists!
Mari > the dusk light filtering through the buildings was gorgeous.
Mari > flower stands on every corner. i got a bit carried away with the curves on this one... it gets addictive as you can see from the other photos!
