Mari > me strutting my stuff! ...while grimacing of course because i have no idea what to do with myself on this side of the lens.
Mari > hmmm... still at black's beach..
Mari > pretty beautiful beach... i'd take a one of those houses on the bluff
Mari > now you see why i'm so tan! i spent every waking minute in the sun this summer... any bets on when i'll be diagnosed with melanoma?
Mari > last picture of a san diego beach... i promise
Mari > okay here we go... on our way east towards prescott, arizona. beautiful scenery wouldn't you say??
Mari > the salton sea. 220 feet below sea level. ugggh and surrounded by just about the nastiest little crap towns i have ever seen. not to mention it was 112 degrees and a million percent humidity (i'm only exaggerating on the humidity). oh yes and of course the ac is completely non-functional at this point! although the sad part is that is was actually more tolerable with the windows up where you slowly baked, versus having the windows down and feeling like you have a hair dryer on high blowing in your face constantly!
Mari > we had planned to take two days driving to arizona but the area was so unbearable that we just kept on driving for eight hours straight... it was out of pure desperation to get the hell out of the heat... did i mention it was 112 degrees yet?! i think we both ended up with minor heat stroke.
Mari > we drank water constantly on this drive... i don't think i ever had the cap on my water bottle. even though we had full water containers in the car, we'd stop at every gas station mart thing and get cold bottles. i would've paid any amount of money for cold water that day. it was a weird feeling.. i almost felt panicky because the heat was so extreme.
Mari > our campsite in prescott, az. we lucked out on the weather... it was cool, wet, and thunderstormy the whole time which i'll take in a heartbeat over the heat on the drive from california! we spent four days in this town to scope out a school andreas is interested in and to see if prescott is a potentially livable town... (it looks cute at first, but it's really just a hick town unfortunately)
Mari > red rocks right outside prescott
Mari > the town of jerome set on the hillside between prescott and flagstaff. old mining town obviously...
Mari > thunderstorms through the amazing red rock formations in sedona, az. i ran about a hundred feet off the road to take this pic and i swore i was going to be eaten by a huge rattlesnake... lucky for everyone, i wasn't!
Mari > more red rocks... pretend like you don't see those pesky telephone wires in the foreground okay?
Mari > the weather moved into sedona just as we were driving through...
me strutting my stuff! ...while grimacing of course because i have no idea what to do with myself on this side of the lens.
