Andreas and I go on a month long road trip in a Eurovan with no air conditioning.

Mari > we did stop and go for a quick swim amongst the RVs and bayliners. the water was pretty nice, however, we almost got the van stuck in the sand and then also discovered a mouse living with us.. and almost got into it with a crazy lady in a mustang trying to tell us her daughter was out in the water drowning. oh yeah and the passenger window stopped going down... all in all... lake powell was not the best experience for us.

Mari > okay so this is the beginning of the narrows in zion national park in utah. it's this crazy hike in which you have to walk up a river through a... yup you guessed it, narrow canyon.
Mari > it was a beautiful day as you can see... peaceful, calm, and breathtaking...
Mari > the canyon is mostly river, but every so often in the wider parts there are banks with trees. little did we know at this point, those banks saved some people's lives that afternoon...
Mari > the color and patterns of the sandstone were pretty amazing.

Mari > i wish the water had been bluish or greenish... anything but muddy brown!
Mari > this area is called the subway
Mari > one of the more narrow parts... love the contrast between the orange and black!

Mari > up where the people are standing is where the river merges from two separate narrower canyons. as you can see from this pic, a flash flood would be bad news for any hikers!
