Mari > the canyon is mostly river, but every so often in the wider parts there are banks with trees. little did we know at this point, those banks saved some people's lives that afternoon...
Mari > plenty of petroglyph type things....
Mari > the view from some random tower on the edge of the canyon
Mari > ohhh the overhang looks a lot more dangerous from this angle!
Mari > thunderstorms through the amazing red rock formations in sedona, az. i ran about a hundred feet off the road to take this pic and i swore i was going to be eaten by a huge rattlesnake... lucky for everyone, i wasn't!
Mari > we drank water constantly on this drive... i don't think i ever had the cap on my water bottle. even though we had full water containers in the car, we'd stop at every gas station mart thing and get cold bottles. i would've paid any amount of money for cold water that day. it was a weird feeling.. i almost felt panicky because the heat was so extreme.
Mari > so we hung around colin and alana's place for almost a week and went to a beach almost every day. this is the hike down to black's beach... it's known for being a nude beach although we didn't and a good 90% of the nudes were dudes!
Mari > ahh ha.. I managed to get julian staying still for a few minutes! (no one has to know that this was his required quiet reading time)
Mari > okay now we're up here... and feeling really loopy because of the elevation! it didn't help when we lost julian for a few minutes and everyone was running around like madmen on drugs.
